Help me give my students a AeroGarden for out first grade classroom! We also need 3 additional seed kits, one cherry tomato, one flower seed pot kid, and 1 grow anything kit.
I am a first grade teacher! My first graders love learning and enjoy coming to school every day! I want to ensure that I have materials to make learning fun and engaging for all of my first grade students!
The students at my school are from a small community.
The students at my school come from different homes and backgrounds. Our school is in a very small town. My first grade students come from a rural area where money and resources are limited. As their teacher, it is my job to ensure that they get access to the resources and materials that they need to be successful students. Most of the families at our school have a median household income of $33,000 and a large majority of students receive free or reduced-price lunch. My students seem to learn best when learning comes to life for them and it is my job to ensure I give them these opportunities!
My Project
Spring is finally here! My first graders want to grow flowers and vegetables. We would love to have the opportunity to do this in our classroom by using an AeroGarden in our classroom! The AeroGarden would allow us to grow flowers and tomatoes as well as other vegetables in our classroom. This project is important because it is a project that my students will do for themselves and will be able to take what they learn and apply it to their everyday lives. Growing a garden full of healthy foods is something that they can take home with them and share with their families.
Eating healthy is a lifestyle that I can teach my students that that they can continue throughout their lives.
Students will also learn the importance of taking care of a garden and what it needs in order to survive and grow. Please help this project come to life for my first graders!
