My Students

I have a class full of fun, bright, inquisitive 2nd graders who are exceptional readers. My students are higher leveled readers who are looking to be challenged with the books they are reading. My class is understanding there are adventures lurking inside every book and are eagerly searching for their next great read. In my class we call these adventures “Mini Vacations.” My class and I are looking to go on more “Mini Vacations,” all while learning important fundamental skills along the way!

My Project

In my classroom I make all aspects of learning fun, and reading is no exception. With these class sets of books, I will be able to take my kiddos on exciting adventures every time we open one of them up!

We will be traveling to fictional worlds where we will use our imaginations and talk about the impossible.

Other times we will be venturing into a place where it is very real and familiar to my students.

Regardless of where our books take us, doors will open and children will be learning.

Reading is fundamental in every child’s life. Literature allows me to teach my class without them ever realizing they are learning. Along the way, I am instilling a love for reading into each of my kiddos!
