Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students bring an energy for learning in to the classroom every single morning. They are excited and ready to learn, always ready to dive into whatever curriculum we are covering each day. They can not wait to read and are hungry to pick up new books to explore other worlds, learn new things, meet new people and go on amazing adventures. As a class we have explored various options to promote positive learning environments and techniques to be successful!
My Project
Today's students are immersed in comic books and graphic novels in a whole new level compared to what used to be available. Kids are finding a love for reading with these fun, bright, and entertaining books. The books chosen for the project are funny, often times goofy, as well as relatable to most of their readers. Many of the books are classics while some are new. Reading is critical as students learn and so I believe it is vital that they are provided with materials that will stimulate their love of learning as well as help them to continue to find joy in reading that will hopefully last a lifetime.
