Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students at Davis are very curious about the world and excited to learn. Our students come from a diverse neighborhood and bring their culture into our classrooms. We have many students who have already shown potential to do great things within the classroom and beyond. Students have already gone out of their way to help out fellow classmates with classwork, labs, and projects.
This year's students are very eager to learn and explore the world in ways that will make them informed citizens later in life.
The level of craftsmanship and cooperation in the classes is fantastic. As a teacher, I am excited to see the enthusiasm these students have already begun to exhibit so early in the year. I want to foster more excitement for academics through allowing the students to have as much exposure to the world at large as possible.
My Project
Our students are the future earth ambassadors and have a great opportunity to reshape the world. By visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the students will get to see many living creatures up close and personal. This in-person, hands-on experience will help our students develop a deeper compassion and understanding about the conservation the earth needs to persist.
At the aquarium, students will visit with Docents to learn about the challenges many marine animals are facing and efforts to help save them.
The conservation focus of the aquarium will become the backdrop for our school unit on ecosystems. The experiences and interactions the students have will continue to drive exploration, inspiration and imagination in the classroom.
The aquarium represents a experience our students deserve. We want to make sure every student at our school has an equal access to real world exhibits. By funding this Donors Choose, you will have allowed our students to have their lives change forever and build friendships fellow with students and scientists.
