Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are hard working, funny, smart, and creative 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders with special needs. They love Harry Potter, math, drawing, and music. They love listening to stories and making up their own. They also love to play with legos, dominoes, and are learning how to solve the rubiks cube.
My students are mostly classified as having a Specific Learning Disability, specifically a language impairment that hinders their reading.
They are on grade level for mathematics but their reading is an area that they struggle with immensely.
My Project
Our 25 students have weathered through snow days, over a month of testing, indoor recess, long division, and all sorts of other hardships and come out victorious! Our students have specific learning disabilities that often make school an even greater challenge. They have worked extremely hard and grown so much in the last year.
What better way to celebrate their incredible successes than a day at an amusement park?
Many of them will be moving on to middle school next year and we believe that this will be a perfect celebration for the end of the year to celebrate our last day together!
