Help me give my students four HP Laptops to to do all the things that will make them successful in a 21st century learning environment.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school in SE Washington, DC, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I would like to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
I want our computer lab to allow students to use the HP laptops every day in my classroom.
In the computer lab, students receive their reading and math assessments. They also are able to advance in ST MATH, Lexia Core 5, Zearn and much more by practicing daily on specific websites. With the use of laptops, and iPads, students will be able to master levels on various educational websites to prepare them for PARCC. My inquisitive scholars are consumers of information, knowledge and ideas that will help them as they grow in learning different subjects.
In the lab, students receive the opportunity to ask questions and have discussions about various topics that range from math and reading to help prepare for PARCC. They will also use them to learn how to type and research when we do various reports and projects.
My students will soar tremendously with everyday practice on their laptops on various apps websites. As you may already know, students who attend high poverty and Title 1 schools deal with lack of resources, specifically technological resources.
Not only will laptops help my students gain new information, it will benefit those who need tremendous support with typing fluency.
They should be able to meet their quarterly goals.
With these laptops, my students will be able to feed their hunger for answers to their many questions and strengthen their reading, writing, typing skills. They will also improve in their math skills as well.
