My Students

We are an inner-city Kindergarten through eighth grade school with all the issues one might expect of urban public Title one school. However, we are a public international baccalaureate (IB) program that features a full inquiry-based curriculum. Our students receive a real opportunity and strong support to prepare well for an IB high school.

Our students have decided to accept academic rigor in an urban public school and have achieved remarkable success.

Our school converted to a strong project-based program four years ago. Our first eighth-grade class is the class of 2020.

The stakes are very high, but we know that all students can succeed in a rigorous academic program.

My Project

My students study math in an academically rigorous program to prepare for a strong high school program. They are encouraged to be creative and explore.

Your donation will provide students with the tool they need to develop a deep conceptual understanding of algebra and geometry basic skills.

They will use these calculators to graph equations, analyze data and perform complex calculations. Without this tool, they can only learn at a surface level using rote methods that are not ideal for long term retention and understanding.
