My Students

A typical day in my classroom starts with a introduction of the day's expectations and demonstrating any new procedures. The students then get started on their designs individually or in a team structure.

My students are great.

I have both high school and middle school students that take my engineering and design classes. For middle school, is a required class, so everyone takes it. Some come to class with expectations that they are not going to like it, but most leave with a positive and rewarding experience. In high school it is an elective, so I know they want to be here and they always come to class ready to take on the next challenge.

My Project

This 3D printer is must-have advancement in technology. It brings my students designs to life instead of being just an object stuck on the computer. In my class, students start by learning the basics of the various software and progress towards complete working drawings. This technology will allow the designs created on the computer to be sent to the 3D printer and created before their eyes. They will learn how design and manufacturing are interconnected and about current trends in the field.

This 3D printer will add more excitement to engineering and design when students see their own designs come to life as an actual product.

This I hope will ignite a passion for learning and a willingness to try new things.
