Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are sweet little five year olds that come from immigrant families. Our school services many refugee families that come from all over the world. The SES of our families is 95% low income, and our first priority for these children that live in poverty is to provide a safe place where they can come to learn and eat nutritional meals. Once these children earn our trust and feel safe, they are excited to discover and learn through our educational programs.
My Project
The school supplies that I am asking for are the type of resources that my students use in the classroom to organize their thoughts, to organize their passwords, barcodes, etc. These items are not provided for them, and they are too expensive for our low income families.
These materials are things that teach students organization.
My students use barcodes and passwords to open educational learning programs, and these supplies will help them become more independent in assessing these programs. Additionally, these materials will help them use their learning times more efficiently.
