My Students

My classroom library is filled with fiction reading materials for my third grade students to read but my reading library does not contain many options for covering nonfiction materials. The Time for Kids magazines are a great nonfiction piece of literature that I know my students can use.

My students are very inquisitive and very active learners.

My students love to read both fiction and nonfiction materials. They definitely need more nonfiction reading material in the classroom and I think they would love the Time for Kids magazines because they contain age-appropriate engaging stories and have amazing photographs that enhance the nonfiction text.

My Project

In our third grade curriculum there is a huge emphasis on teaching nonfiction texts to our students. I currently do not have many nonfiction materials in the classroom that my students can use or borrow. These magazines would enhance my teaching of nonfiction text. Purchasing these magazines would also allow my students the opportunity to take them home to use with their parents.

Many of my students do not have funds to purchase these nonfiction magazines for themselves.

By ordering a class set for my students I will be able to provide them with nonfiction text material that I know they will use in the classroom and at home.
