Adding the Arts in STEM for STEAM: Spools of Color
My students need 12 spools of 3-D printing filament to continue learning computer-aided design to purposefully create prototypes and add more Arts in STEM for STEAM.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are energetic, curious, and happy 7th grade students that work hard to learn science. They occupy six sections of our new and exciting STEM elective this year, and they come from all different backgrounds and academic experiences.
The students in my classroom this year are special because they are all willing to try new experiences, want to learn the latest and greatest technology, and they see themselves as the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
They enjoy working in the Computer Science (CS) Lab with their partners, and they want to be challenged. Each student in my class is unique and different in their own way. I enjoy them all.
My Project
3-D printing is all the rave in the STEAM lab at our school these days. Students are using computer-aided design to create prototypes and models of purposeful items. The various spools of the filament will make a difference in my students' learning by allowing them more color choices for the CAD design challenges.
The materials in this project would greatly improve their school lives by infusing more art into their STEM projects through the exploration of color as well.
Having an addition 12 spools of the filament will provide opportunities to enhance prototyping by creating multi-color prints, which would be limited to only one color without these materials.
