Adding Onto My Classroom Library

Help me give my students some additional reading materials for their classroom library.

My Students

I teach three different types of classes: AP Literature and Composition~students in this class read, discuss, analyze, and evaluate fiction from various genres and historical periods in an effort to prepare for the AP Exam in May; Honors English 4 students expand upon the skills introduced in Honors English III. They engage in various modes of writing with emphasis on prose writing, analytical essays, and critical analyses. The students engage in outside research and read supplementary novels and plays. Students must complete a research paper as a requirement of this course and C.P. English 4 students develop skills in the area of reading, writing, speaking, and listening, as well as, gain an appreciation of world cultures and their influences on society today. Students prepare a variety of oral and written assignments, including analysis of literature, using primary and secondary sources of information, as well as, computer generated sites.

My Project

My district is moving toward the concept of classroom libraries and students having a choice in reading materials. My classroom library is a place that my students can enjoy. It is filled with books that have been chosen with students in mind. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students strengthen their skills. They will be able to choose books according to their own interests, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time.

These books have been requested specifically by my students who love to read.

Getting requests such as these makes sharing my love of reading with my students easier.
