Do you remember the excitement you had when learning something new? My students love learning through engaging activities.
My school is in a progressively growing rural community with total enrollment in Kindergarten through 5th grade of over 550 students.
The town population is approximately 66,881, with 17 elementary schools in the district. The diversity at our school comes from the economic levels with approximately 45% of our students receiving free and reduced lunches. I teach in a self-contained fourth/fifth grade class. I have twenty-eight students. I teach students with a wide range of learning abilities.
My Project
The resources will help my students engage in learning about economics. Students will use the energy cars to learn about the importance of saving our natural resources. Students will learn about the cost and benefits of using alternative energy. Students will explore with the circuits as the make the clock potato. Students will use the magnet kits to explore concepts of engineering as they build structures. They will also learn about the jobs connected to engineering.
Economics and science are very important concepts when preparing our students for the future.
Using these engaging materials my students will love learning about science and economics.
