When people hear about our school, they know the reputation it can give off. Our neighborhood is in a low economic area, and my students come from all walks of life, and are willing to learn.
That is the beauty of their reputation.
My students all want to be able to express themselves in the multiple ways that art allows. My students are constantly wanting to learn new art methods and history. For some students, this is their first time having art in their lifetime. This year we will be focusing on exploration of materials and allowing ourselves to grow through different time periods in art and history!
My Project
My students have had art now for the past two school years. We have created fantastic works of art. With major budget cuts it can be hard to be able to do art projects with no supplies. These supplies will allow our classroom to continue to grow and be able to learn various techniques.
Students are learning art every day!
This is something that was not happening before. My students appreciate creating art and learning different techniques. Oil pastels can be used to blend colors. Students are able to mix two primary colors to create a secondary color. Students are learning water color resists with oil pastels as well. Students will be able to create up coming Monet water lilies using oil pastels and color sticks.
These supplies will help replenish our classroom supply and allow my students to continue creating for the rest of the school year.
