Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
An image will speak louder than a thousand words. We live in color and my students' work should be a vibrant reflection of their personalities.
My young students live in a small community in a high poverty area which, due to the proximity to Mexico, allows them to maintain a connection with their roots and family members.
They all participate in the free lunch program and are English language learners. They face many challenges such as poverty, lack of motivation and language barriers amongst other things. Many families in this community struggle financially. Some parents cannot provide their children with the basic school supplies. This makes my students more appreciative of the materials we receive.
My Project
If my students receive the color printer it will be installed in our classroom. This printer and ink will be used to print in color writing activities, certificates, pictures, and visuals for our bulletin boards. The printer and ink will motivate students to be creative and complete their academic assignments as best as they can.
A printer might seem like a simple tool, however in my classroom, it will bring color to my students' work.
We live in a colorful world, and my students' work should be a reflection of their creative minds. Color can spark their imaginations and facilitate the brainstorming process that's essential to creating projects and student engagement.
