Help me give my students a color printer to show them how to shade in graphs, pencils to do their work, a laser pointer to point out steps, and glue and scissors for their interactive notebooks.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
When I walk into my classroom every day of the week I think, today is going to be a great day! I can't wait to see my students, ask them about their weekends and evenings and hear their stories. They make me laugh quite often and always leave me with a story to share with my own family.
Making sure my students have the resources they need to be successful is one of my top goals!
I do my best to provide them with utensils, technology, and a safe space for them to work. My students love the ambiance in the room because I light up the room with floor and table lamps instead of the harsh florescent lights. They feel it relaxes them and promotes a better classroom environment. I even have students who do not have my class say, "Oh, I like your classroom! I wish I had you as a teacher!" I love my students, I love my classroom...ultimately, they bring me so much joy!
My Project
Using an interactive notebook is very important for our students! These notebooks help them learn and retain information. This is why we need colored pencils. They can use them often when graphing transformations and inequalities, even when showing different steps of math problems in their notebooks.
Mathematics requires a lot of steps and having colored print-outs for their interactive notebooks will help tremendously when they are individually working on their assignments.
The students enjoy making math their own and with the materials requested, each student will be able to create their own interactive notebook the way they prefer to learn.
