This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are from poverty stricken neighborhoods in the city of Buffalo. They want to learn, but they don't always have the support or means to do it. Some of my students are new to the country. They do not speak English. Several of my students do not know how to write in their native language. It causes quite the challenge for them.
My students are fun, inspiring, clever, diverse, interesting, and unique.
I just want to give them the tools they deserve!
My Project
This school year, I have used kamiapp.com frequently for both full class and small group instruction. This allows the students to annotate the text. I would like to use an advanced stylus to demonstrate how to annotate for whole group instruction as well as have students model annotating in the small group instruction. This is one small step toward making a more 21st century friendly classroom. I think it is really important to incorporate as many tools into the classroom as possible. The end result: Students will be able to she me as well as fellow peers annotate the text on the laptop using an Apple stylus.
