My students need two Chromebooks to replace our over ten-year-old eMacs in the library.
This project expired on December 31, 2014.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Did you love going to the library? Our students have a great library, but currently have no way to look up books or do research. Our outdated eMacs can not run the software needed to look up our book collection, and research is impossible. These old dinosaur computers simply don't work online.
Our school has just over a thousand students and is located in South Sacramento, CA.
Many of our students have limited or no technology at home, so it is unreasonable to ask them to online research at home.
Our school is a loving community that fosters learning and a love of reading. We care deeply for our students and they feel important and cared for.
Students will use these two computers to link up to our library database. They will be able to find books in library for the subject they need to research! Students will also be able to do online research and take online test for our Accelerated Reader program.
Students will have the best access to our library books and be able to explore the world through online learning.
Since students can also take Accelerated Reader tests on these machines, we will also increase their fluency and comprehension skills.
Finally, students will learn how to use modern computers. Computers have advanced in the last ten years; students will get to see how!
