My French students are truly magnifique! They are creative, fun, and excited about learning about France and other francophone countries! I have students from many different cultural backgrounds, for whom French is their third language. We have fun comparing and contrasting French culture with those that we are more familiar with. It is so refreshing when they discover that we really do have more similarities than differences, even though we may live many miles apart.
These students realize the importance of having a global perspective in our society today.
They are on their way to being tomorrow’s leaders!
My hope for this project is to allow students to expand their love of animals while also learning French language. I have been building a French library from scratch this year in order to help build literacy skills in my foreign language classroom. We currently have books about several different topics, but my students are looking for a larger range from which to choose.
Books about animals are always a hit with my students!
I would like to expand this section of my library by adding books about a variety of animals in French.
Research shows that one of the best ways to learn a foreign language is to read about topics that are interesting, at a level of language that is easily understood. That is why I need beginner level texts about the different animals students love and care about.
