Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a second grade teacher for primarily English Language Learners at a low-income (Title I) school. My students come to school each day with bright smiles and an eagerness to learn. I've tried to make the most of the resources available in order to create a warm and comfortable learning environment. I try to build community amongst the students by gathering them on the carpet for instruction. Much of the cooperative group work is also done on the carpet. At this time, all 25 students must sit on the plain blue canvas that is our carpet. It can be confusing for them when trying to sit in rows or groups. I am asking for help in obtaining a color-coded rug that would fit 30 students. This rug would help to enclose and define the learning area as well as provide students with an easier arrangement for groups. The colorful touch of the rug would also make our classroom much more lively. My students and I appreciate any help you may be able to offer. Thank You!
