I'm so lucky to be teaching students in their first elementary school experience. My students come from many different types of families, but all are hardworking, eager to learn, and very smart. They are excited about learning and I'm anxious to keep them motivated and engaged in the learning process by having technology available in our classroom.
Technology allows me to provide quality literature, critical thinking activities, leveled practice, leveled assessments, and Reading Counts tests for every student in our classroom.
My students are excited to explore the world of literature, practice letters, numbers, high frequency words, and other kindergarten skills, and to expand their capacity for critical thinking. They take pride in their efforts and like to challenge themselves. I want to make sure my students become savvy with technology and have opportunities to use it regularly within our school day in a structured and academic way.
My Project
I am at a brand new school. Our buildings are new and our playground equipment is new, but there is little money for supplies such as crayons, markers, colored pencils, and WATERCOLORS. We want watercolors so students can add color to their art work and make our learning environment more beautiful and kid friendly.
Watercolors are more than just an art supply.
Of course watercolors add beauty to a project, but when students use a paintbrush, they are using the same muscles they use when they're writing. Painting with watercolors aides in handwriting because it increase grip strength, hand steadiness, and fine motor skills, and it's fun!
We want our students to enjoy learning and growing, and with watercolors, they will.
