Many of the students from our rural Maine school are very talented either academically, athletically, and artistically. Many of the students are from low-income families and work hard to balance the demands of school, home, and working their own jobs. They are very passionate about what they are interested in, always ready to share it with the community. Many students have been recognized at the state level.
No matter their circumstances my students don't let anything stop their drive to succeed in any field whether it is academic, athletic, or career-related.
My Project
With distance education and individualized learning, there are English and Special Education teachers in my school who are struggling to adapt individual lessons they have used for in-person teaching to an online environment. Some have to create new lessons while teaching students who are still in-person instruction and balancing their personal needs outside of the school environment.
Getting them new study guides and lesson plan idea books for literature is the first step to helping English and special education teachers during this time.
That way, they will not have to reinvent the wheel, adjust it for a new reality.
