Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students I work with benefit from adaptations and accommodations to their environment, schedules, routines, and tools. For example, a student with Cerebral Palsy has difficulty with motor control to type on a standard keyboard. How exciting would it be for these students to be able to input words into a computer using a large keyboard?!

Puppets are an exciting way to work on a student's fine motor coordination.

Let's provide an age-appropriate way to work those fingers in order to strengthen and improve coordination and control. These skills are needed for all academic tasks for writing, cutting, using glue, typing, and all school supplies.

My young learners LOVE sensory bins. Providing a variety of dust pans will allow them to use the one that works for them to help clean up. They are still at the age where they WANT to help ;) The feeling of helping and success is just what is needed for confidence and continued effort and success.
