Adapted Supplies for Bilingual Life Skills Remote Learning
Help me give my students in the Bilingual Life Skills class school supplies for remote learning. My students need adaptive supplies such as do-a-dot markers, coloring books, magnetic play-doh, adapted scissors, and sound books.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are full of love, hugs and smiles. They are in my Bilingual Life Skills class in grades 1st-5th. All of my students have been diagnosed with intellectual disabilities, Speech Impairment and Developmental Delays. Some of students have Emotional Disturbance, Cerebral Palsy, Angelman and Down Syndrome. All students qualify for free school lunch and each have unique abilities and disabilities.
All of my students in bilingual life skills class would benefit from a variety of adapted classroom resources to help increase their success in our newly established distance remote learning platform.
As you know, schools will remain closed due to the COVID-19 virus for the rest of the school year. This presents a challenge, as most of my students do not have access to supplies required to accommodate and modify their individual learning needs in their homes. It has been a challenge to do online activities as all of my students require 1:1 intensive support and their families are not tech savvy.
My Project
The adapted materials and supplies I am requesting for students already have a home. We just need your help getting everything to support my students with their continued virtual home learning!
These resources will improve students' understanding and competency in an authentic & meaningful way by using sensorial, kinesthetic, perceptual and cognitive components that will engage their curiosity and enhance creativity at home.
This project will support students motor skills and provide them with STEAM (Science Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math) activities. In order for students in special education program to access the curriculum at home I have to create unique lessons for them. I am currently using Seesaw, Zoom , Flipgrid and other programs to differentiate my lessons and to reach as many students as I can. Unfortunately, many families in our class are unable to access my online lessons for various reasons such as lack of wifi, device, time, some parents are essential workers and are not able to offer their child the 1:1 direct support they require. Due to my students' disabilities, they are not able to log-in to their technological device on their own. My families are unable to spend money on anything other than food and other necessities.
