Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is designed to meet the learning needs for students on the autism spectrum. My students fall all over the autism spectrum. My students are in 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade.
Each student is amazing!
Some of our students are non-verbal, some use communication devices, and other spend half their day in the general education classroom. Our students are very diverse from a variety of cultures, countries, and languages are represented in our classrooms.
Our school is a Title I school, meaning majority of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. My family gives our classroom what they can but their resources are stretched.
My Project
My students need interactive and adapted material to access their curriculum. My students struggle with expressing their knowledge and engaging in books. These donations will help my students communicate and create adapted books.
These materials will help them talk! Many of my students are non-verbal and need interactive communication images to express their knowledge.
Our classroom needs velcro and laminating sheets to create these essential communication materials. It will also help us make adapted books for students to access academic concepts. The cart organizer will help my students organize the materials. This will help my team make student communication quickly to help our students.
