I have had the privilege of teaching at my current school for 8 years. I taught special education, and last year I changed to teaching General Education. I missed the relationship building with a small group of students. Most of our students fall into the category of "at risk disadvantaged youth." We have a diverse group of students and they are sure to overcome any obstacles!
It is important for students to believe in themselves!
I believe all students should believe in themselves, and we as teachers are to "guide" them into this mentality!
My Project
These supplies will be used to help modify and accommodate the different needs for my students to learn. Due to my students having diverse needs and concerns, many of these supplies will help all of them learn in different ways. Also, many of my students do not have resources available to them at home or school; therefore, I can alleviate some of the pressure for my students and parents. For example, many of my students require a “reader” having headphones will give them the ability to have their computers, or IPads to read them material. Bouncy ball seating gives students with extra energy to be able to move while learning! All these resources could be used in special education.
Adapt and overcome is what my students have to do!
It is my job to help them to overcome and adapt to their academics, social and personal concerns. Any help is appreciated for my special needs students!
