I always like to tell my students that in our classroom they are part of a family. We all bring different things to the table. Some of us are more quiet, where others are loud and outgoing. Some students love sports and learning history and war, where others love math, or science, or reading science fiction novels.
All of our interests are different, but we still find common ground and have similarities.
Our classroom is composed of students from many different socio economic backgrounds. The students upbringings, family traditions, and different cultural backgrounds help to make our classroom a unique place to learn and grow together! We are all able to contribute to make our classroom the best learning environment it can be!
These different yard games that I have chosen are ones that are well loved by the students. My partner teacher and myself use things like an afternoon of playing kickball as a reward for our 2 classes. For this project, I am requesting materials for dodgeball, kickball, lawn darts, and corn hole. These will also be used during the students "break time" to get some of their energy out with their friends!
These games all require that the students use teamwork, strategy, and problem solving!
These different games will also be lent to teams meeting after school and will be used for extra- curricular clubs like Girls on the Run. Please partner with us to buy these awesome games for the students to use!
