This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative, critical thinkers. They are active problem solvers and are learning to take an active stance in their education. They constantly impress me with their ability to think about the world in different ways with multiple angles.

The students in my class live in a high poverty neighborhood, but they deserve high quality educational experiences.

My expectations of them are high, and we are frequently collaborating and engaging in critical thinking together. The students in my class are always working to make their community a better place.

My Project

In my class, I ask students to think in totally new ways. I ask them to talk to each other and not just me. I ask them to listen to each other and figure out how to solve their problems using empathy and understanding. I ask them to be great. I want my students to sit on furniture that tells them that I think they are great. I want them to work on furniture that keeps their bodies active so their minds also stay active.

Students in my class will use these wobble stools when they work in groups brainstorming for a project or discussing books they read.Since the stools allow for active sitting, my hope is that their brains will be more active also!

I know they have brilliant ideas inside ready to come out!
