Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are individuals who are inquisitive, sweet, funny and always willing to help others. Some of my students are learning to read and write while others are learning their colors, shapes and letters. They love any activity that involves music! Love, laughter, learning and community are the cornerstones of our classroom.

Even with the odds stacked against them, my students continue to word hard, rising to meet the challenges of learning.

Benjamin Franklin said, "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."

I love to involve all of my students into our daily learning, and it's amazing to see the gains that seem to happen overnight!

My Project

We all know that 5 year olds are extremely fidgety! Even while they are working there are parts of them that are constantly moving! They enjoy working and make a lot of progress throughout the year but they have difficulty sitting in hard chairs during the day. They are constantly rocking back in the chairs, or they have their knees in the seat. Sometimes they even fall back because they are leaning in the chairs.

I would love my students to have wobble chairs so they can work on stability, balance and coordination while working.

They will be sitting, but still have the opportunity to be active while they are working!

Wobble chairs will help them stay in one spot and still be moving without falling. Wobble chairs will help my students stay in their seat and complete their activities while maintaining balance and stability.
