My students need comfortable and concentrating seating. My students don’t receive the amount of physical activity or free time that their bodies need so active seating will help meet their need to move and focus.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Active, eager, and flexible are the 20 students that make up my 3rd and 4th-grade classroom. My students are English language learners that come from different Hispanic backgrounds. Their effort in learning a new language and culture is demonstrated daily with good behavior and focus in the classroom.
To many of my students, education is their only outlet to improve their lives.
They appreciate me as their teacher and the lessons I engage them in. They enjoy learning through visuals, media, and projects. Their best work comes from working collaboratively with others as they support one another through the challenges of being a second language learner.
My Project
Active seating can really make all the difference when it comes to focus. Unlike traditionally rigid and restrictive school seating, active seating encourages student movement and incorporates it into the learning process. When learning math and language arts, my students can become stressed causing them to fidget and lose focus. They are uncomfortable and become distracted.
More importantly, active seating will provide an alternative way of seating for my students with disabilities.
It will help their minds become more alert and focused. While learning math and language arts, these seats will provide comfort which will result in more engaged students.
