My Students

Imagine going out to play with your friends and not knowing how to use the equipment correctly. This year we would like to teach our students how to use outdoor equipment correctly so they can successfully play with others.

We are a Title I, K-3 Special Education Class.

This class has a variety of abilities and disabilities. Our students love school and give 110% every day in all that they do.

We strive every day to help our student overcome any obstacles in their way, whether academic or motor skills.

My Project

My students have a very difficult time with learning games and how to play them correctly. With limited resources on campus and not enough instruction time for PE, this will be an opportunity for the classroom teacher to have the materials to teach/enhance skills/games they have previously learned.

While observing our students with general education students at recess, it appears that they have a difficult time connecting with the other students.

They do not understand the rules/procedures of everyday games and lack the confidence to approach or try to integrate with other students.

With the active play kit and extra practice they will be able to develop the knowledge and confidence to socially interact with their peers without feeling left out.
