Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is on a Reserve Base. We serve the children of our men and women serving in the United States military from all branches. Our school has over 1000 children that come from diverse military families. Children move every few years and have to start a new school because of the military parents' duty station transfer.
At our school, teachers and staff members strive to provide the best possible education to the military children that have to endure a new home, new school, and new friends every few years.
The mission of our school is to educate our military-dependent children, no matter what their background or previous school experience, to fully achieve their personal and academic potential through the acquisition of core knowledge and the skills of analysis, problem-solving, communication, and global responsibility.
My Project
I am requesting dry erase markers and magnetic erasers so my students can actively participate during Math instructional learning. Our 2nd grade classes go through dozens and dozens of dry erase markers every school year because they use them as a daily part of their learning. They use them as an instrument of learning that is active learning and actively participating with whole class instruction as well as small group instruction. Our students are responsible for bringing in their own supplies at the beginning of the year, unfortunately that is not enough to last through out the year. Help ease the burden of the military children and their active duty military parents that serve our country each and every day. Your donation to this project will help us ease the burden of having teachers and parents go out and buy more supplies to finish out the school year.
