My Students

Our school is the only elementary school in our small town, and I feel so blessed to be joining the "family" this year. I can't wait to see the sweet faces of the students who have welcomed my family and I into this wonderful little town. I am so excited to give them my best each day as I know they are hard workers, eager to learn! I already know my students are rock stars as they bounced back from Hurricane Harvey last year and persevered through any challenges they faced.

My Project

I will use the Active Kids Chair (wobble stools) during my small group instruction to allow students to focus on their academic achievement instead of wondering when they'll be able to stretch and get some wiggles out. Currently, my students sit in regular chairs for a majority of their work time. My goal is to incorporate a variety of flexible seating options in my classroom, and these wobble stools would definitely gives us a great start.

As grownups, we function best when we choose how and where we want to sit; our students deserve the same opportunity to decide what is comfortable for them as well, so they can perform at their best!
