My Students

What comes to mind when asked to describe my students? My students are expressive, they prevail in spite of adversity, and they are triumphant! We have only been in school for seven short months, but I am amazed by the growth I have seen in my students.

Many of my students are from low-income homes; with just a little help and someone to believe in them, they will be unstoppable!

For my 18, I am committed to being that person!

My Project

I would like to introduce my students to flexible seating options. Research shows that students are able to retain information better when they are able to engage kinesthetically with their environment. My young kindergarteners need opportunities to move, but the demands of the school day are not always conducive to their needs to move.

Balance balls are a great solution as they allow for movement without causing a disruption during instruction.

I would like to use the Balance Balls at my reading table. I think they will provide just enough movement to help my students stay engaged during our guided reading groups.
