My Students

I have a diverse group of 8th grade English students that are creative, thoughtful, and unique. My students have different learning styles and different needs. They take pride in their work and work hard to create a comfortable forum of learning for everybody.

My students explore a lot about themselves and the world around them through the literature we read and through the projects they complete.

My students love to express what they have learned in creative ways. They enjoy working in different settings and using technology as part of the learning process.

My Project

One of our goals every year is get reluctant readers excited about reading. These books will provide students access to some of the best contemporary young-adult books. Our students have multiple opportunities for independent reading throughout the year and they display the knowledge they learn from books in creative ways. Updating and improving our classroom library will help us accomplish our goal creating ravenous readers! Students will have everyday access to a wide variety of novels that will introduce new, exciting plots, characters, and conflicts. These novels will take our middle school students' imaginations to places far beyond the classroom. They will become stronger readers and better thinkers!
