As a middle school teacher in a very low-income school, I see that my students are faced with many challenges that occur in and out of school. When students come to our school, they feel comfort, safety, and stability that they may not have at home. The students I teach love to receive positive praise and attention. I want to be able to provide my students with a safe, positive, and meaningful academic environment.

Over 65% of my students receive free and reduced-price lunch. Most students come from immigrant families and live in a low socioeconomic community. These factors may have a huge impact on the students' academic success as well as being exposed to experiences that build background knowledge.
When students enter my classroom, I believe it is important to focus on the growth and potential that each student has. I try to instill in my students that everyone can be a leader no matter what background you have or where you have come from.
My Project
My students are currently taking Information Computer Science and Keyboarding through their middle school career. The Everything You Need to Ace Computer Science and Coding in One Big Fat Notebook, breaks down complex Computer Science terminology in an easy to understand way, while also providing illustrations about each topic. These books are a great resource for students to use to look further into a topic and expand their learning, with a user-friendly book.
These Books are designed with creativity, visual elements, and are student-friendly, showing students that books can be fun to read.
I am hoping to provide my students with their own copy of this book so that they are able to have it at home while we are currently learning remotely. This added resource will help students understand some topics that are taught throughout the semester that they have a difficult time conceptualizing without seeing or looking at it within a book.
