My Twenty-Six Second Grade students eagerly greet me each morning. They are ready to share their ideas and experiences. We encourage our learners to explain their thinking. We allow our learners time to share their thinking by using daily "Thinking Routines". Students are being asked to talk about about their thinking and learning and to listen to the thought and ideas of peers.
An accountable talk meeting area for our Second Grade class will help save precious learning time.
We need this alphabet rug to help us transition smoothly and quickly.
Our Second Grade learners are actively engaged when they talk about their thinking and learning. Our students talk about math, reading, writing, social studies and science concepts. Students use thinking routines and turn and talks several times each day. To help transitions go smoothly, a specific meeting area will save precious learning time. For example after Independent Reading, students can team up with their partner at their designated letter on our carpet and discuss their thinking and learning.
Our Flagship carpet, will be a classroom management tool which will allow students to quickly meet up with their partner to discuss learning, thinking and self assessments.
Second Graders can meet at their assigned letter and begin to share their learning outcomes.
