My students are greeted at the door every single morning. They are asked how their day is and they immediately run to greet their classmates. They are reminded throughout the day that they are role models, as they are constantly setting the example for others.
My classroom is full of 26 energetic students who see the bright side in everything they do.
They come from a low income neighborhood and many from Spanish-speaking families. Although they come from a low income neighborhood, they have a tremendous amount of potential to be leaders one day!
We are in need of some new stools to use at our computer center. We have these same Norwood stools at my guided reading table, and they have proven to be so sturdy and comfortable for all of our students. We would like a set to use at our computer center to get rid of some of the heavy chairs that we are currently using. Replacing these chairs with stools will also allow for the floors to be cleaned more thoroughly helping to keep our classroom cleaner and healthier.
In addition to the stools, we are also requesting a class set of clipboards.
These clipboards would serve a dual purpose. They would allow students to work in different parts of the classroom as part of our flexible seating initiative, and will also work to display student work in the hallway since we no longer have bulletin boards to showcase their work on.
