My students need to protect the 7 Chromebooks donated to our classroom with cases and screen protectors as well as headphones and splitters to listen to audio activities.
Imagine each student with a set of headphones hooked up to a headphone splitter so that small groups can listen to videos on Chromebooks stationed throughout the room. Now imagine a teacher watching this and feeling at ease with protected Chromebooks (previously donated).
On a typical day in a our Wold Language classroom, students do different activities ranging from book work, viewing videos, listening and repeating, and more.
Most of the student population is very low income and usually qualifies for government help, including free and reduced lunch.
Our students come from a wide variety of cultures and incomes. Our school is slowly becoming more technology driven, but needs resources to help. As it is, we only have one computer lab and it is often signed out for state testing, or the equipment is outdated and doesn't meet my class needs.
Our World Language team of 2 French teachers and 3 Spanish teachers was previously donated 7 Chromebooks, but they are unprotected. We need cases and screen covers to ensure that they last for the years to come. Our students do not all have headphones and with only 7 Chromebooks, we need splitters to make sure that all students in the small groups are able to easily and comfortably listen to videos shown in class.
By protecting the Chromebooks our World Language students will be able to use these resources for many more years than without.
The headphones and splitters will allow for engaging and educational videos to be shown to every student in small groups.
