This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My student's have all been identified with special needs. Their ages range from 3-5 years of age. They have been placed in a developmental needs setting based on their educational needs. Our school serves students in a low-income/high poverty school district.
My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Despite the many challenges they face, I am striving to keep things simple and equip my students with all the tools that they need to meet their full potential and to creative, intentional and meaningful learning experiences.
My Project
We are entering a new season in our learning .These materials will provide more developmentally appropriate pre-writing, gross motor and early language experiences to support our goals and early learning standards. Also, our outside time will be modified and scheduled differently during standardized testing days. We are in need of more materials that are quickly accessible for gross motor and sensory play. A folder separator is needed to help organize all of my student's work samples and projects. Sticker learning kits are really supportive in assisting children with open-ended art. A electronic pencil sharpener in the classroom would really be helpful and make things easier. Some of my students are able to use a pencil sharperner on their own but don’t have the opportunity. Please help me support my students in this new season of learning.
