My students need audio recordings of 4 classic books, especially for those who have difficulties with reading, and a computer to allow more students to complete projects.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Have you ever come across a word you couldn't pronounce and you got so focused on it you forgot about what you were reading? Have you ever waited for something when you were in a hurry and felt panic that you would run out of time? Some of my students experience this on a daily basis.
My students sometimes include those with disabilities, which means they can have difficulties reading long novels.
This doesn't mean they shouldn't enter the world of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 where they learn the dangers of not being educated and not thinking for themselves. Audio books allow my students to keep up in their classes with the story being read to them, so they don’t stop because they can’t read a word and get frustrated. They 4 chosen books on CD are on the class reading lists from 9th through 12th grade and would be wonderful for the learning center to have to help engage students in the novels.
My Project
In addition, another laptop for our Learning Center would mean students don’t have to wait half the class time to get onto a computer to complete projects for biology, English, history or math. I feel awful watching students get frustrated as the clock ticks by and those are minutes they desperately need to be working on their studies. They do PowerPoint presentations, type essays, research for papers and apply for college.
