As the old saying goes do you have ants in your pants? My students often lose focus in class and need some redirecting and refocusing. Movement helps tremendously with this to refocus them.
I teach in a Collaborate and Resource setting for students with special needs.
During the day I have students coming in and out of my room completing activities and centers. These materials would allow my students to be able to access the curriculum more easily and with more success. The school I teach at is in a low-income community, where many parents are facing unemployment at the moment. All my students are very eager to learn.
My Project
The use of technology being brought into this classroom, would greatly benefit it in so many ways. The technology I am requesting will help my students access the curriculum and have copies of their work printed quickly. The laptop that I am requesting will allow my students to have access to interactive activities, videos and websites for the whole group to see at once. They will also be used to reinforce skills taught using websites and apps. If my students get the technology requested, it would enrich my classroom greatly. The toner ink will allow our class to have copies of assignments and their work readily available. The erasable penswill help them correct mistakes.
With this technology, my students would have access to all content areas, while they are having fun and developing a positive attitude toward learning.
