Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our student population represents countries from all around the world. My students are curious, inquisitive and hard working. They are so inspiring! In addition to learning the English language, my students actively engage in our Science English Language Learners curriculum. Many of my students support themselves financially and sustain part-time jobs in addition to school.
Many of my student have experienced hardships or witnessed violence yet they are committed to their education dream of successful careers in which they will contribute to making our world a better, safer and more peaceful place.
My Project
My students need technology (Chromebooks) to support their learning in Biology class.
Having access to Chromebooks will dramatically change learning in my Biology classroom as students will have access to physics and microbiology simulations as well as tools to research.
I recently received training in online and distance learning. I would love to have the opportunity to apply this learning but not having access to technology is a current barrier.
I can visualize how students will use the Chromebooks. They have so much enthusiasm for learning and having access to real world models and visuals as well as online labs and access to apps will certainly deepen their learning in my classroom.
