Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are excited about creating. Our school is located in the rural Mississippi Delta. We are a Title I school where 100% of our students qualify for free lunch. My students don't have many opportunities outside of school to explore the arts. We are a very small community.

My students are so excited to learn about artists and mediums.

I enjoy seeing the excitement in their eyes. When students create artwork, they are filled with pride and love to show it to their other teachers.

My Project

Through my art program, I get to teach all the students at my school, including special needs students. I need adaptive technology for my students who have needs. An iPad would help all my students. Students will be able to use programs to create digital projects through apps such as Procreate.

My students have multiple ways of learning and they are always looking for a way to engage with our lessons.

A challenge we have had is making devices accessible for them.

We also need a case and glass to protect our IPad through everyday use and accidents. Thank you for considering our project for an iPad and case.
