Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Working in the poorest congressional district in the country, my students come in at a wide range of academic levels. I work in a South Bronx school where we work together to empower our students and provide them with opportunities they may not be exposed to at a Title I public school.

My students are extremely hardworking and creative, however, many have large gaps in knowledge and limited resources.

As a teacher, I make every effort to give my students many opportunities to extend their work and thinking to higher levels and to raise the bar on their own personal expectations.

My Project

A standing desk will allow me to stand up and teach live lessons to my class and project them through my laptop so that students who are attending from home can have a positive virtual learning experience. Students will be able to see both me and the lesson properly, providing an enhanced learning experience.

A standing desk enables me to record myself teaching and present live lessons to students, and allows me to focus on creating and teaching rigorous lessons for my students.

All of my students deserve to be given the same care and attention through virtual learning as they would inside a classroom. Please help me provide the best virtual learning experience for my kids.
