My students are eager to learn! They all have visual impairments or blindness. Their learning experiences need to be hands-on and meaningful. They complete general education curriculum in large print or braille format.
My students are in regular classroom using assistive technology in order to access materials.
My students are always eager to learn about multiple ways they can access materials just like their peers. Many of them do not always have the technology they need in order to access materials in the classroom.
My students need an iPad in order to learn the accessibility features like VoiceOver, zoom, speak selection, etc. Applications on the iPad allow them access materials in large print or audio format.By gifting my students this iPad, it will allow them to access things that their eyes cannot always let them see. This will allow them greater access to materials since Apple products have the best accessibility features for students who are blind and visually impaired.
Apple's accessibility options will allow them to independently access some of the same applications as their peers.
The larger screen allows students to open up presentations and worksheets in a larger format and the Apple Pen allows them to be able to respond to them. The accessibility features will also allow students independent leisure. This device will impact my instruction to my students by allowing them to practice their learned skills .
