Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are eager, thoughtful, and full of creativity. They have varying abilities in the classroom, but they never let that stand in the way of their learning goals. My students have a passion for learning, and they are active participants in their learning experience.
My students with disabilities work hard to overcome their weaknesses, and build upon their strengths.
I walk onto campus everyday, looking forward to what our day will hold and eager to watch them expand their learning. Our school is nestled in the heart of Spring Valley, and my students don't always come equipped with the resources they need. I work hard to give them as much as I can, and provide for them in all ways possible.
My Project
These headphones will provide my students with the opportunity for equal access to curriculum and testing; allowing my fifth and sixth grade students to take control of their learning across all settings. It also gives them the comfort and confidence to listen to the text as many times as necessary for their individual processing and comprehension needs.
Our classroom depends on headphones for my students to access "text to speech" accommodations on testing, and access read aloud books in their free time.
These headphones will provide my special education students equal opportunity to all learning experiences in the classroom. All of my students have a passion to learn, they just require the appropriate tools and devices to help them succeed. Together, I know we can provide them with the tools that they need to access their learning.
