My Students

I am the full inclusion support teacher at an urban, diverse elementary school. This project will support two second grade students with autism who are fully included in a general education classroom.

These two students have autism.

They both have significant language, fine motor, and learning needs. Both students are curious and smart, yet are more than two years below grade level. They need alternative ways to learn skills and connect with their peers.

My Project

There are many ipad apps that will allow these two students to practice emergent literacy and math skills in an engaging way. I also want them to be able to independently use the ipad to take pictures and videos to create stories during writer's workshop. They both have significant difficulty forming letters by had but could use pictures and assistive technology apps to create stories and share ideas.

Both of these students are striving to overcome significant difficulties in their lives.

They have loving supportive families who do not have the resources to buy ipads. You will give these two students independence.
