My Students

The challenge is to keep the students excited about learning!

My students are in first grade.

They are excited about school. Like all first grade students, they bring in bugs, rocks and dandelions! We are a small country school with grades kindergarten through eighth in Wisconsin. We have about 200 students. We are one of a handful of schools that is not consolidated. We LOVE our small country school.

My Project

This camera would be a wonderful for magnetizing those bugs, rocks and dandelions that the children bring in. We could aim the arm at the object and "like magic" the object appears on the smart board 80 times larger! Can you imagine the excitement? I could magnify a ruler in math, models of objects in science, handwriting paper, the possibilities are endless. I would love to put up papers with mistakes and show the children what is wrong, before more children make the same mistakes. It would be so nice to display papers instantly, as needed!

This will make a big difference in my classroom!

I can see a use for this camera in every subject. I could instantly display anything at any moment! My spur of the moment thoughts are often my best ones but sometimes I need to display a LARGE version of something on a paper I'm holding. Aiming the arm of this camera at the paper would provide that opportunity to "seize the moment!" You could google Aver Avervision F50 document Camera and see for yourself how awesome it is!
