This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach a classroom of 32 eager learners who come from very diverse socio/economic backgrounds. The children deal with many challenges but are always smiling and are a joy to teach . 95% of the student body in my school qualify for the free-lunch program and needless to say my classroom supplies are scarce.

One of the areas where my students are lacking is in technology where the classroom simply does not have the tools that other more affluent school districts provide.

My Project

The Fire Tablets I requested will allow me to have the students work in small groups to foster an interactive learning experience. In today's world technology plays a key role in driving instruction and in exposing young minds to the wonders beyond the classroom.

My students are curious, eager to learn, have minds like sponges and rise to any challenge I pose to them.

Having the proper tools in hand will prepare them well for the years ahead. The area where my students are most lacking is in having the technology tools that are commonplace in other schools/districts.
